First of all, thank you for taking the time to do this blog interview with us. We would like to introduce you to our community and get a first impression of the project with you.

Usually you come from a different genre, what made you choose to work with a techno label?
I think something magical happens when two genres marry and work out. The opportunity presented itself and it felt like fate, so I went with it. I am stoked and can’t wait to see what happens.

What do you think about the projects of Wechselstrommusic and what do you expect for your project?
The artists and their music are very impressive.. The energy of this music is so powerful. It evokes the listener to be one with the song. You can feel the beat in your veins. It transcends language and cultural barriers. I am simply excited and grateful to have the opportunity to work with other artists in the world. I only expect to grow from the experience and hope others are able to connect with the music that’s created.

Your track “Wolf”, which the project is named also about, is very deep and meaningful. What do you want to say with this track?
I wrote the song rather quickly sitting in my mother’s living room one afternoon, fantasizing about times I’ve been sized up like prey, as a wolf does when it’s stalking its next meal. However, as I was writing, I realized the song had so much symbolism and could be translated accordingly. For instance, the wolf might represent a corrupt government. I’ll leave it up to the listener to decide.

Do you have a specific role model or are you going your own way?
There are so many people I admire. However, I’m doing my own thing. I don’t want to be stuck in a box and limit my creative ability, sound or intelligence. I’m largely impulsive and experimental with my music, and it helps me get through this crazy life.

We as your label have heard and seen some interesting things from you. What has been your biggest success so far?
Music has always been a part of me but it was not my focus until now. A few years back, I collaborated with indie filmmaker and good friend, Jeff Wyatt Wilson, and recorded songs with yardsale type electronics. We used the raw, unproduced, unmixed/unmastered music I created in two different musical shorts, which screened and premiered at film festivals all over the world. What’s sort of funny is I never attended any of those events. I am a mother before everything, and was home with my two small babies during that time. I started my late teen and adult life out as an international runway model for a few years before I shifted my focus to academia. I’m currently a practicing psychotherapist and am getting my doctorate in applied psychology. I think positioning myself to help others and becoming a mother are my greatest successes.

Do you actually do other things besides songwriting and singing?
Yes, I am a psychotherapist and work closely with individuals suffering from Opioid addiction, although I work with all populations and passionately advocate for mental health. I work, go to school and take care of my children, two dogs, cat and fish. I also shoot a compound bow, and occasionally compete in archery tournaments.

How do you as a musician deal with the current world situation?
Fortunately, we live in a rural part of the world and have not been as severely impacted as the larger cities. We have room to stretch out and run. We have open spaces and nature to admire. I have been practicing yoga for the first time, on my patio in the sunshine. This has been a powerful mindfulness exercise and has definitely helped me cope and be more present, not only with myself but those around me. I have planted flowers, a vegetable garden and an herb garden. I am considered an essential worker and have still been working for the most part with no change. I’ve been inspired to keep going and keep growing as a person during this time. Like other artists, I’m inspired by tragedies and triumphs, raw emotion and life experiences. I think beautiful art and music will be a result of the pandemic, and hopefully I can get in the studio soon. The studio I usually record at has been closed since COVID19 hit the US, and everything shut down.

Do you think it affects our project? Both as people would like to hear it and the thoughts that will flow there as inspiration!
Absolutely! It has affected everyone. We are all connected, and making music is transformative and healing. We all need that.

Keep your heads up! Gin loves you, and wishes you all peace and love and healing.
